Mark the date for FAME Camp 2010 because FAME Camp 2009 was a success. Your efforts to send 129 children, ages 8 to 14 years old, to camp with golden tickets and reference letters raised the camp experience to a new artistic level. We enjoyed an outstanding week with your talented students. 129 children (record setting) attended this year from 53 schools. We always survey the children on the last day of camp about their experience. Here are the results.. We received high marks (upper 90 percentile) from the campers when asked if the teachers helped them focus and be intense, creative, and have fun. They were very positive in their response to the classes. They loved their counselors, lived through the camp food and felt overall very safe on campus. The teachers focus their classes in music, visual art, theatre and dance on unlocking the child’s creative muscle. Riding on this success, we are splitting the camp by ages and making a two week program for 2010. Children completing grades 2 thru 5 attend August 1—6, and children completing grades 6—8 attend July 25-30. download your 2010 golden ticket packet at www.famearts.org for next year’s camp. This camp is offered for your students that you feel will be the next generation of artists. Giving the child a golden ticket also secures a financial scholarship if the family is in need.
I have DVD home movies available for you to get a real sense of what the camp experience was like for the children. The movie will help you in promoting this great opportunity to more of your talented students. Please email me at beth@famearts.org for a copy. I can come visit your class, too.
